Remember When

Remember when we actually went to work
We drove our cars, our duties we didn’t shirk
We woke up early, put in our time
Then drove back home after earning our dime,
Remember when.

Remember when we’d dress up in real clothes,
Planning our outfit, in front of the mirror we’d pose.
Getting ready, out the door we’d go
A cup of caffeine through our veins would flow.
Remember when.

Remember when we saw others face to face
We weren’t apart, we were in the same place.
Shaking hands, standing near
Giving hugs, high fives to cheer.
Remember when.

Remember when we were able to play sports
We’d go to games, our kiddos to support.
We’d race from work, there for the start,
As parents we’d do our part,
Remember when.

Remember when toilet paper was plentiful
A fully stocked shelf? Ah that was beautiful.
No worries wiping, no counting of squares
We never worried about that Charmin bear
Remember when.

Remember when we could travel anywhere
Hop on a plane, take off in the air
New memories, dreams of fun days
Upon new sights we’d gaze.
Remember when.

Remember when we could meet and hang out too
And time flew by as we laughed the whole night through
You brought the dip, I had the chips
We’d eat too much, went straight to our hips,
Remember when.

Remember when.
